Neuronetics Neurostar TMS Therapy System
HS Design was asked by Neuronetics to collaborate in a large cross disciplined team to help develop the NeuroStar TMS Therapy System. The system is used for treating patients with chronic depression. In depressed patients, an imbalance develops in the neural circuits that link the prefrontal cortex with the limbic system and other parts of the brain. Electricity flowing through a coil above the head generates a magnetic field, creating an electric current in the brain. The process hopes to restore the normal balance.
HS Design assisted in a wide variety of actives, including component selection, industrial design, human factors, packaging and mechanical development.
